Description Republic of Ireland Home Football Shirt Jersey Maglia Trikot 1987 OPEL Between 1984 and 1988, the Boys in Green went through football shirt designs like they were going out of fashion, often using a particular one for just a game or two. In the case of this shirt, it is the 1986/87 template, with the large white collar and cuffs, and the new crest, and the material is very similar to that used for the 1988 home shirt. However, the OPEL sponsor on the chest was not in widespread commercial use, so this shirt was possibly used in promo/for a photoshoot, but no confirmation as to the exact background. Came from a reliable source of Ireland memorabilia. There was a strong squad in place at the time, who went on the qualify for Euro 88, making history for the Ireland national team. The likes of McGrath, Moran, Houghton, Whelan, McCarthy and Aldridge. The great Liam Brady was coming towards the end of his playing days. In Excellent vintage, worn condition, compared to similar shirts of this age. Size Adults Large on tag, but does run smaller in terms of fit. Pit to pit is 54.5cm and length from top of shoulder to hem is 70.5cm. *General after-care advice.
